Alay Valley Horseback Trek
Alay Valley Horseback Trek
A 4-day horseback trek through the lower Alay Mountains, crossing two passes to the vast highland basin of the Alay Valley, southern Kyrgyzstan's most immersive nomadic landscape, with Lenin Peak (7,134m) on the horizon
A point-to-point horseback expedition through the lower Alay Mountains, crossing two passes and descending into one of Central Asia’s largest highland basins. Four riding days cover approximately 54 kilometers across the Airy Bell pass at 2,956 meters and the Ak Tor pass at 3,557 meters, where the Trans-Alay Range and Lenin Peak (7,134m) fill the southern horizon. All three mountain nights are spent in working shepherd family yurts, and the tour opens with a guided afternoon in Osh, the 3,000-year-old cultural capital of southern Kyrgyzstan and the country’s only UNESCO World Heritage city.
