The Republic of Georgia sits at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, where the Greater Caucasus mountains shelter valleys that birthed wine itself—8,000 years of continuous winemaking using qvevri clay vessels, now UNESCO-recognized Intangible Cultural Heritage. In Svaneti, medieval defensive towers rise from ancient villages; in Kazbegi, Gergeti Trinity Church perches beneath glaciated Mount Kazbek; in Tusheti, accessible only by mountain pass, shepherds maintain ancestral traditions. EcoVoyager connects these remote regions with expert local guides, family guesthouse stays, and the legendary Georgian table.

When to Go to Georgia

Every season reveals a different face of the country. Here's how to find yours.

Orthodox Easter (April 10-13, 2026) transforms Georgia. Midnight services at Svetitskhoveli Cathedral in Mtskheta and Tbilisi's Holy Trinity Cathedral draw thousands for candlelit processions and paschal hymns. Independence Restoration Day on April 9 adds to the festive atmosphere. Tbilisi reaches pleasant highs around 60°F with frequent brief spring showers. Cherry blossoms peak in the city's parks and the Botanical Garden is spectacular. Lower-elevation roads begin clearing though high mountain passes stay closed. Batumi enjoys its driest month (~100mm) and warms to the mid-60s. A strong shoulder month combining comfortable temperatures, major cultural events, spring landscapes, and pre-peak pricing.
