The $200 is non-refundable, but it is not an extra fee. It covers the work of researching and developing your custom itinerary, and the full amount is applied to your final trip cost once you book. If you decide not to go ahead, the $200 covers the planning time already invested on your behalf.

Yes. Our published destinations are the places where we have the deepest local networks, but we regularly build custom trips beyond them. If you have somewhere else in mind, tell us during your inquiry and we will look into what we can put together for you.

There is no fixed price for a custom trip. Each one is quoted individually based on length, destinations, group size, and the activities involved. After your discovery call we put together itinerary options with clear pricing, so you can see exactly what your trip includes before you commit to anything.

Unless noted otherwise, your trip price covers accommodation, activities, and meals as set out in your itinerary, local transportation throughout, and the services of local guides and tour leaders. International airfare, travel insurance, visas, passports, vaccinations, personal expenses, optional activities, and gratuities are not included unless we state so in your itinerary.

A 25% deposit confirms your booking, and the balance is due 90 days before departure. If you book within 90 days of departure, full payment is due at the time of booking. You can pay by your preferred method, including credit card, ACH, or wire transfer.

Yes. Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory on all of our trips. Your policy should cover trip cancellation and interruption, medical expenses, emergency evacuation, and personal property. We recommend arranging it as soon as your booking is confirmed.

Cancellations must be made in writing and take effect on the day we receive your notice. Standard terms depend on how far you are from departure, and certain supplier costs such as permits or issued airline tickets may be non-refundable regardless of timing. For qualifying disruptions outside your control, such as government travel bans or natural disasters, our Flexible Booking Policy may apply instead. It depends on the trip. Many of our journeys include active elements such as hiking, boating, or wildlife tracking, often in remote areas where medical facilities can be limited. Because every custom trip is built around you, we match the pace and intensity to your group. We ask you to share any relevant medical conditions when booking so we can plan a trip that is both safe and right for you.
