This 12-day expedition crosses Guatemala and Belize along ancient Maya trade routes, combining archaeological depth with genuine jungle immersion. The centerpiece is a 5-day, 4-night trek from Carmelita through the Maya Biosphere Reserve to El Mirador, home to La Danta Pyramid, the largest pyramid in the world by volume, passing the remote sites of El Tintal and La Muerta. Cross into Belize for the Actun Tunichil Muknal sacred cave system, Caracol’s jungle-set temples in the Chiquibul Forest Reserve, and the hilltop ruins of Xunantunich before returning to Guatemala City.
