Acatenango Volcano Overnight Trek
Acatenango Volcano Overnight Trek
A 2-day overnight ascent of Acatenango with high-altitude base camp at 3,400 meters facing the active Volcán Fuego and a pre-dawn summit push to 3,976 meters at sunrise
The Acatenango Volcano Overnight Trek is a two-day ascent of one of Central America’s highest active volcanic systems, climbing from Antigua through four vegetation zones to a high-altitude base camp at 3,400 meters positioned directly facing the active Volcán Fuego. Eruptions illuminate the opposite cone through the night from camp before a pre-dawn wake and a two-hour push to the summit crater at 3,976 meters for sunrise above a sea of clouds. The descent returns you to Antigua by midday on Day 2.
